CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO APPLY ONLINE AT www.jointerritorialarmy.gov.in ONLY.NO OTHER MODE IS ALLOWED FORSUBMISSION OF APPLICATION.
Applications are invited from gainfully employed citizens for an opportunity of donning the uniform and serving the nation as Territorial Army Officers,
based on the concept of enabling motivated young citizens to serve in a military environment without having to sacrifice their primary professions.
You can serve the nation in two capacities – as a civilian and as a soldier. No other option allows you such an expanse of experiences.
1. Total Number of Vacancy.
(a) Male - 18 (b) Female – 01
Note :- The final selection shall be made in the order of merit uptothenumberofvacanciesavailable. Vacancies are subject to change as per organizational requirement.
2.Conditions of Eligibility.
(a) Nationality. Only citizens of India (male and female).
(b)Age Limits.18 to 42 years as on last day of filing ofapplication i.e.should have attained minimum 18 years and should not be more than 42 Years on21 Nov 2023.
(c)Educational Qualifications. Graduate from any recognized university.
(d) Physical Standards. A candidate must be physically and medically fit in all respects.
(e) Employment. Gainfully Employed.
Note:- Serving member of the Regular Army/ Navy/ Air Force/ Police/GREF/ Para Military and like forces are not eligible.
3.Date of Online Entrance Examination.3rd / 4th week of December 2023 tentatively.
Disclaimer :-The date of holding the examination as mentioned above is liable to be changed at the discretion of the competent authority.
4. Submission of Applications. The Online Registration and Applications can be filed from 23 Oct 2023 (1000 Hrs) to 21 Nov 2023 (2355 Hrs) after which the link will be disabled.
5.Centresof Examination. The Examinationwill be conducted PAN India. List is given in TA websitewww.jointerritorialarmy.gov.in.
6. Standard and Syllabus of the Examination :
7. Standard.The standard of the papers in Elementary Mathematics will be of Matriculation level. The standard of papers in other subjects will approximately be such as maybe expected of a graduate of an Indian university.
8. Syllabus.
(a)Part – 1. Reasoning. The question paper will be designed to test the candidates ability to complete sequences, making logical conclusion based on simple pattern of numbers, statements, figures, letters etc as may be expected of a rational thinking person without any special study of the subject.
(b)Part – 2. Elementary Mathematics.
(i) Arithmetic. NumberSystem—
Naturalnumbers,Integers,RationalandRealnumbers.Fundamental operations, addition, subtraction,multiplication, division, Squareroots,Decimalfractions.Unitarymethod,timeand distance,time and work, percentages, applications to simple and compound interest, profitand loss, ratio andproportion,variation.Elementary Number Theory Division algorithm. Prime and composite numbers.Testsofdivisibilityby2,3,4,5,9and11.Multiplesandfactors. FactorisationTheorem.H.C.F.andL.C.M.Euclideanalgorithm.Logarithmstbase10,lawsoflogarithms,useoflogarithmictables.
(ii)Algebra.
BasicOperations,simplefactors,RemainderTheorem,H.C.F.,L.C.M.,Theoryofpolynomials,solutionsofquadraticequations,relationbetweenitsrootsandcoefficients (Only real roots to be considered). Simultaneous linear equations in twounknowns—analytical and graphical solutions. Simultaneous linear inequations in two variables and their solutions. Practical problems leading to two simultaneous linear equations or inequations in two variables or quadratic equations in one variable & their solutions. Set language and set notation, Rational expressions.
(iii) Trigonometry.
Sine×,Cosine×,Tangent×when0°<×<90°Valuesofsin×,cos×and tan×,for×=0°,30°,45°,60°and 90° Simple trigonometric identities.Useoftrigonometrictables. Simplecasesofheightsanddistances.
(iv)Geometry. Lines and angles, plane and plane figures, Theorems on, Properties of angles at a point,Parallellines,Sidesandanglesofatriangle,Congruency of triangles, Similar triangles, Concurrence of medians and altitudes , Properties of angles, Sidesanddiagonalsofaparallelogram,Rectangleandsquare,Circleanditspropertiesincludingtangentsandnormal,Loci.
(v)Mensuration. Areas of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, triangle and circle.Areas of figureswhich can be split up into these figures (Field Book), Surface area and volume ofcuboids, lateral surface and volume of right circular cones and cylinders, surfaceareaandvolumeofspheres.
(vi)Statistics.
Collectionandtabulationofstatisticaldata,Graphicalrepresentation frequency polygons, histograms ,barcharts, piechartsetc. Measures of central tendency.
(c) Part – 3. General Knowledge.
General knowledge including knowledge of current events and such matters of everyday observation and experience in scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will also include questions on history of India and geography of nature which candidates should be able to answer without special study.
(d) Part – 4. English.
The question paper will be designed to test the candidates’ understanding of English and workman - like use of words.
9. Candidates to Ensure their Eligibility for the Examination.
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the competent authority.
10.Exam Duration. Maximum time is 02 hours.
11.Type of Exam. Computer based test (CBT).
12. Qualifying Marks.
The Territorial Army Directorate have discretiont of ix qualifyingmarks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
13. Penalty for Wrong Answers. Foreachquestion for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate,onethird (0.33%)bmarks assigned to that question will be deductedaspenalty. Question marked for review will be treated as unanswered.
14.Fee Details. Candidates’ are required to pay a fee of Rs 500/- (Rupees five hundred only). Candidates should note that payment of examination fee can be made only through the modes prescribed at website. Payment of fee through any other mode is neither valid nor acceptable. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee/mode shall be summarily rejected. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
15.How to Apply. Candidates are required to apply online by using the website www.jointerritorialarmy.gov.in. Brief instructions for filling up the online Application Form IAF(TA)-9 (Revised) Part-1have been given on the website.
16. Instruction to the Candidate for Filling Online Application.
(a) The Online application can be filled from 23 Oct 2023 to 21 Nov 2023 after which link will be disabled.
(b) The applicants must ensure that while filling their Application Form, they are providing their valid and active E-mail IDs & mobile number as the concerned authorities will use electronic mode ofcommunication while contacting them at different stages of examination process.
(c) Candidates are advised to apply online well in time without waiting for the last date for submission of online applications.
(d) While filling in the Application Form, the candidate should carefully decide about their choices for the centre for the examination.
(e) Candidates should note that no request for change of centre will be granted.
(f) Candidates in their own interest are advised to keep a copy of print out of filled form submitted online.
17.Admit Card for Online Entrance Exam.
The admit card will be made available online for being downloaded by the candidate. The admit cards shall depict photograph and scanned signature of the candidate, date of birth,date/time of examination and also name and address of examination centre.
In addition, email & SMS alert will also be sent to the candidates for the same.
18. Helpline Number for Guidance of Candidates. In case of anyguidance/information/clarification regarding their application ,candidature etc. candidates can contact helpdesk over Telephone on working days between 10:00 AM to 5:00PM starting from the commencement of filling of application till conduct of CBT. The contact details will be available on official website i.ewww.jointerritorialarmy.gov.in.
19. Objection Management.
Objection Management Link shall be hosted on website www.jointerritorialarmy.gov.in. after 72 hours from the date of examination inviting concerns of the candidates related to questions and
answers keys of the examination, if any. The objection management link shall be shared with the candidates on their registered email for downloading of response sheet. Objection management link will be live for only three days.
20. Selection Procedure.
(a) Candidates whose application forms are found correct andare declared successfull in the online entrance exam will be detailed for intelligence and personality test at the ServiceSelectionBoard.
(b) Two-stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test has been introduced at Service Selection Boards. All the candidates will beput to stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres.Only those candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to thesecondstage/remaining tests and all those who fail to pass stage one, will be returned.
(c) The male and female candidates will beplaced in separate order of merit on the basis of the total marks secured by them in the online entrance examinationandintheSSBtests.
21. Embodiment for Training.
(a) Six months Pre-Commission Training as provided in TA Rule 20A amended vide SRO 65 dt 29 Apr 2023. (Candidates shall be commissioned in TA only on successful completion of the said Pre- Commission Training.
(b)Two months annual training camp every year.
23. Candidate who qualify in online entrance exam (CBT) are required to bring the following documents in original along with self-attested copies at the time of SSB Interview.
(a) Application Form IAF (TA)-9 (Revised) Part-2 to be downloaded from www.jointerritorialarmy.gov.in and fill it up in their own hand writing.
(b) All educational qualification certificates (Matric onwards).
(c) Copy of identity proof with photographs (Voter ID/PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving license/Aadhaar etc).
(d) Proof of residential address.
(e) Certificate for proof of age (Matric/ Senior Secondary mark sheet and certificate for verification of date of birth).
(f) Candidates whose names vary in documents should submit copy of Gazette notification of India/ State showing the correct name or an affidavit duly supported by newspaper cuttings.
(g) Latest income proof from the appropriate authority (i.e. Income Tax Revenue Department / Magistrate / Employer).
(h) Copy of latest Income Tax Return (ITR) filed.
(j) Self-employed candidates are required to submit an Affidavit on Non- Judicial stamp paper of minimum value duly attested stating nature of employment and annual income along with photocopy of PAN card and self- certified character certificate.
