The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the last date to update your Aadhaar documents for free by three months.
The link is open (Free Of Cost) till September 14, 2023. With this, in case the identity proof and address details on your Aadhaar card are not updated, you have the option to do so by providing the proof of latest documents till September 14, 2023.
“This service is free on myAadhaar portal from 15th March 2023 till 14th September 2023,” the UIDAI said.
Document update for Aadhaar can be done in both online and offline modes. While updating of Aadhaar details is free when you do it online at the official UIDAi website. https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in, you have to pay Rs 25 as the convenience fee if you get it done at common service centres (CSC).
Also, the UIDAI recommends that Aadhaar holders are advised to update their details every 10 years from the date of enrolment with supporting documents “to ensure continued accuracy of their information in Aadhaar database”. However, it has clarified that doing so is optional and not mandatory.
Steps to Aadhaar update supporting documents:
Step 1: Go to the official UIDAI Website.
Step 2: Select the language in which you want to proceed. In our example, we are selecting English.
Step 4: Scroll down and you will see the option Update Aadhaar.
Step 5: Click on Document Update.
Step 5: Click on login.
Step 6: Enter your adhaar no & then enter CAPTCHA and click on send otp ,you will receive an otp on your registered mobile NO.
Click on login and u will be redirected to new page.
Step 7: Click on document update to upload proof of address and proof of identity.
Step 8: Click on next.
Step 9: As you will reach this page ,click on I verify the details and click on next.
Step 10: Select the document you want to upload.
Step 10: As soon as uploads are completed click on next click on submit. Your document update is complete.
